SMTP

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is a service to transfer email over the internet. The client sending the email opens a TCP connection to a SMTP server which is used to send the message.

Exploit

SMTP servers can be set up on non-standard ports. This could be an attempt by an attacker to send SPAM messages or even control the machine.
